Mission Statement

A unique piece of technology that many enthusiasts purchased, the Raspberry Pi is a miniature computer that you can hold with one hand. Released in 2012, it gained a substantial following as many people purchased one of the types of Raspberry Pi. Unfortunately for the Pi, its following died down as many people found that they didn’t have something to do with it. Six years later, many of these tiny bits of technology have languished in garages, boxes, or on shelves. They have gathered dust when they could have been put to use. “But how?” Their owners might ask. We have come to answer that question.
The Half-Baked Pi is a blog dedicated to educating the owners and potential owners about how they can use a Raspberry Pi for fun and profit. There are numerous ways that the Pi can be to automate simple functions--such as activating a garage door opener, or creating a computerized calendar. Teaching others to use the Pi for things that they never imagined is our goal. We also hope to educate our readers about the benefits and problems of owning a Raspberry Pi, buying a Raspberry Pi, and constructing a Raspberry Pi.

By doing this, we will not only access a niche audience--the owners of the Pi--but we will also be able to speak with authority to any reader looking into the subject. As the Raspberry Pi community has need of a blog focused on its continuous use, we will be filling that need. Not only will we be writing the assigned articles, but each team member will be writing at least one “Variety Article” on a topic of their choice.
